Tri-State College of Acupuncture offers an education that honors classical traditions and modern approaches in the training of independent acupuncture and Oriental medicine healthcare providers. At Tri-State you will find a vibrant community of adult learners, and a passionate and dedicated faculty and staff. We offer a uniquely diverse curriculum that features comprehensive education in three styles of acupuncture and emphasizes hands-on clinical training. Students graduate from Tri-State fully prepared to face the real-life challenges of acupuncture practice.
Learn Multiple Styles
You will train in three styles of acupuncture, and gain additional exposure to other styles and traditions. Tri-State’s unique integrative methodology engenders creativity in our graduates, and will enable you to draw on diverse acupuncture lineages to meet the needs of each individual patient with grace and precision.
Gain Clinical Confidence
You will begin your clinical training in the first weeks of class, and ultimately hone your skills as an intern in the college’s busy community clinics. Tri-State’s experiential learning approach and commitment to clinical excellence have consistently led our graduates to be among the most confident and competent acupuncturists in the country.
Train with Master Practitioners
You will study and train with some of North America’s leading acupuncture practitioners and educators. Embracing elements of an apprenticeship model, students train and observe directly with our master practitioners, each with over 20 years of clinical and pedagogical experience. Our faculty members represent a wide variety of acupuncture traditions, ensuring you receive a thorough and diverse education.

Tri-State’s program is designed for adult students, with many classes held during weekends and evenings. A precise schedule is made available in advance, allowing you to plan your entire year ahead of time. Many of our students work or are raising families, yet still complete the Program in Acupuncture in 3 academic years, and the Program in Oriental Medicine (acupuncture + herbs) in 4 academic years. Our high average graduation rate of over 90% attests to the fact that the Tri-State program truly works for students.
